How to Set Up and Use your Peak Oxygen Concentrator
- Plug in the machine.
- Switch the power toggle to “on” – you will hear a loud beep.
- Set up the tubing (see below).
- Adjust the amount of O2 (liters/min) being delivered – Use the small knob to adjust the floater ball to the appropriate level. We recommend you start with 2L and adjust as necessary. This unit is not equipped to deliver more than 5L. If you attempt to deliver above 5L the machine will sound an alarm.
Nasal Cannula
If only one person is using the machine and extension tubing is not needed, the nasal cannula can be plugged directly into the machine. When putting on the cannula, the 2 prongs are inserted into the nostrils and the tubing is looped behind both ears and then cinched below the chin. Please note: Nothing goes behind the head or neck (see above image).
Extension Tubing
This is to be used if you need extra tubing length OR if 2 people are using the concentrator at the same time. If extension tubing is used, it should be plugged into the concentrator and then the cannula(s) will be connected to the other end using one of the following connectors:
Single Connector
This should be the connecting device between the extension tubing and the nasal cannula if only 1 person is using the machine at a time.
Splitter
This should be the connecting device used between the extension tubing and nasal cannulas when 2 people are using the machine at the same time. Please note – This connector will not be efficient if 2 cannulas are not connected to it. If only one person is using the machine, please use the single connector for the extension tubing.
